Favorite YA Contemporary Authors

Happy Wednesday! We’re just about halfway through the week! Today I’m going to make a list of a few of my favorite YA contemporary authors, as the title says 🙂 These are listed in no particular order.

Estelle Maskame

Estelle is the author of the ‘Did I Mention I Love You?’ Trilogy (Did I Mention I Love You?, Did I Mention I Need You?, and Did I Mention I Miss You?’)and I absolutely love her writing style. If you haven’t checked out her books, go do it now! Her first standalone novel ‘Dare to Fall’ will be released this summer, but no word on a US release yet. I’ll keep you posted!

Miranda Kenneally

Miranda is the author of the Hundred Oaks series, which contains 8 books, the last of which will come out July 4! The books are Catching Jordan; Stealing Parker; Things I Can’t Forget; Racing Savannah; Breathe, Annie, Breathe; Jessie’s Girl; Defending Taylor; and Coming Up For Air. I’ve read three so far, and I bought but still need to read one of them. Of the three I’ve read so far, Jessie’s Girl has been my favorite, and I hope to get the others soon!

Kasie West

Kasie is the author of a bunch of contempoary books: The Distance Between Us; The Fill-In Boyfriend; On The Fence; P.S. I Like You; By Your Side; and Lucky In Love. Lucky In Love comes out later this summer on July, and Kasie recently sold two more books, one to be released in 2018 and the other in 2019! I love reading her books, and I can’t wait for her new ones!

Kristen Orlando

You Don’t Know My Name was an amazing book, and I can’t wait for the rest of the series to be released! The second book comes out in 2018!

Jen Klein

Shuffle, Repeat was an awesome book- I loved every second of it and flew through it. (Check out my review for it too!) Her second YA contemporary titles Summer Unscripted will be available this summer!

Ali Novak

Ali is the author of My Life with the Walter Boys, which I absolutely loved, and the author of the Heartbreaker Chronicles– The Heartbreakers was amazing, and I CANNOT WAIT for Paper Hearts which comes out this July!

Huntley Fitzpatrick

Huntley wrote My Life Next Door which is one of my favorite contemporaries, and also a companion novel titled The Boy Most Likely To. I haven’t read What I Thought Was True yet, but I bought it and I can’t wait to read it!

Jennifer E. Smith

I haven’t read all of Jennifer’s novels, but I LOVED This Is What Happy Looks Like and Happy Again. I also read The Statstical Probability of Love at First Sight, and I enjoyed it, just not as much as TIWHLL.

Charlotte Huang

For the Record was a great book, and although I haven’t read Going Geek yet, (even though I bought it already!) I have high hopes based on how much I loved FTR!

Olivia Rivers

Tone Deaf is a very impressive debut novel; it held my attention, the characters were awesomely dynamic, and I really want to re-read it!

Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Problem With Forever was a really great read, very compelling and intriguing! Make sure you pick it up soon!

A. V. Geiger

To be fair, Follow Me Back is a mystery/thriller, but since it’s kinda contemporary I thought I’d include it! FMB comes out June 6, and it’s definetly a book you don’t want to miss!
I have a bunch of other contemporary authors that I absolutely LOVE, but these are just a few. Who are your favorites?

If you have the time, please check out my blog @breenysbooks. I’d love any feedback. Have a wonderful day.
