[ARC REVIEW] “Anti-Hero” (Kensington’s Next Generation #2) By: C.W. Farnsworth

The second book in the next generation series of the Kensington family is here! It’s Kit’s turn in the spotlight.

What is Anti-Hero by C.W. Farnsworth about?

Playboy heir to an empireKit Kensington has it all: money, status, looks, power. As Kensington Consolidated’s newest employee (and future CEO), Kit arrives ready to exceed the high expectations that accompany his last name. However, when his new assistant turns out to be Collins Tate, he finds himself off-balance for the first time in his life.

With one glaring exception, Collins Tate has spent six years carefully avoiding the immature billionaire who seems to be universally adored by everyone else. Following an ill-advised bet, which resulted in a night with him, Collins is determined to return to being the one woman who finds Kit resistible. Except she really needs a fresh start and a new job.

Surprisingly, working with Kit isn’t awful. Shockingly, they make a good team. For the first time in years, Collins starts to feel like she made the right decision.

Until their agreement to pretend that night never happened becomes impossible.

Kit Kensington might be a decent boss. But he’s the last person Collins would have picked as the father of her child.

Too bad … it’s too late.

Rating: 4/5 Stars

Review:

I love Charlotte’s books, and I absolutely love her Kensington family series, so I was so excited to read Kit’s love story! Plus, I really love how all of the titles in this next generation series are Taylor Swift song titles.

It’s no secret that accidental pregnancy is one of my least favorite tropes, but I’ll take any excuse to return to the Kensington family – and Collins having a connection to Kit’s sister Lili, as her former roommate, added another fun layer. I am a fan of the workplace romance trope, and really enjoyed all of Collins and Kit’s slow burn banter. Kit is a walking green flag, and this definitely falls into the category of he falls first – he falls before we even see him on the page in this one.

Overall, I enjoyed this book, and I’m looking forward to the next one in the series! I liked that there’s no third act breakup, although I recommend for readers 18+ due to some of the mature content. Special thanks to Charlotte and Valentine PR for allowing me to read an early copy – the book is available now!
