Another Jennifer E. Smith book has some movie news! (Yes, The Statistical Probability of First Sight, I’m looking at you). As you can tell from the title, Jordan Fisher is set to star and executive product the adaptation of Jennifer’s cute young adult novel. I’ll admit, I haven’t read the book *yet* but it’s been sitting on my bookshelf for awhile!
If you don’t know who Jordan Fisher is, you might have been living under a rock. I first knew him from Teen Beach Movie and Live & Maddie, but you might know him for his more recent work in the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before series and the Netflix hit, Work It.
According to Deadline, the film is one of 10 that ACE has set for production within the next year. Due to the pandemic, a lot is subject to change, but I’m hopeful! Based on how gorgeous the book cover is, I can’t wait to see how amazing the movie cover looks!

Most excitedly (at least for me), Deadline’s article says that The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, This Is What Happy Looks Like and Field Notes on Love are all currently in feature development! This Is What Happy Looks Like is one of my favorite books of all time, and I’m crossing all my fingers (and toes) that we’ll get a really good adaptation. (If y’all need an intern or an assistant on it…hit me up. I’ll sit in on writing, casting…document the BTS…)
What are you most excited about seeing in the movie? Let me know in the comments!
Check out the synopsis of the book below!

On the night before they leave for college, Clare and Aidan have only one thing left to do: figure out whether they should stay together or break up. Over the course of twelve hours, they retrace the steps of their relationship, trying to find something in their past that might help them decide what their future should be. The night leads them to family and friends, familiar landmarks and unexpected places, hard truths and surprising revelations. But as the clock winds down and morning approaches, so does their inevitable goodbye. The question is, will it be goodbye for now or goodbye forever?
Charming, bittersweet, and full of wisdom and heart, this irresistible novel from Jennifer E. Smith, author of The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, explores the difficult choices that arise when life and love lead in different directions.
