Wattpad has been the starting place of some of my favorite young adult and new adult books. I know of books that started out as new adult that were aged down to be young adult when published, so this news is extra exciting! (Although I will say, at first I thought it mean “new adult” as in college-aged and characters in their twenties, so when I figured out “new” and “adult” were likely separate, I got a little sad. But from the sounds of it, that’s going to be the types of books they release, so yay!)

“W” is the new imprint of Wattpad books, and will be publishing adult books beginning in 2022. The first book will be by Beth Reekles, author of The Kissing Booth, with her new book Lockdown on London Lane. I hope that Wattpad publishes more “new adult” books, like college-aged and characters in their twenties, so I’m so excited to read the new books!
