The final book in the spin-off series of the Fulton U universe, the Falling trilogy, is here!
What is “The Hate of Loving You” by Maya Hughes About?
Six years ago, in the dead of night, I woke up to a cold bed and an even colder future without her.
I would’ve followed her anywhere and she left.
I thought I’d moved on and left all she meant to me behind. But a first love is never easy to forget. Even harder when I once felt our love is inevitable–inescapable. And I’ve been proven right once again.
One night brings us back together and derails our lives. We’re sent on a collision course with a future apart and even scarier–a future together. I’m back basking in the warm glow of her gaze and burning with the unquenchable fire of her touch.
We’ve walked this path before and our shattered hearts have been pieced back together. As easy as it would be to run again, I can’t stop wanting her.
This is our final chance to have what we’ve always wanted–each other. Or it’ll be our ruin.
The final book in the Falling Trilogy, a Fulton U Universe novel.

Review:
There’s another time jump in this one, but it’s a bit confusing because the first chapter takes place a month after the last book, and then it jumps forward a few years, so it took me a little while to get my bearings. Six years felt like a really big time jump, so I felt like I was playing catch up to try to understand everything that had gone on in their lives for the past little over a decade – it definitely took me awhile to figure out what was going on with Keyton and football, that’s for sure.
That aside, it was nice to see them grown up. Technically, they were adults in the last one, but not really. Seeing them both with more life experience, for better or for worse, added a lot of maturity to each of them both individually and together. Bay’s decision to leave, and knowing she tried to get back in touch, made her redeemable from her actions at the end of the last book in my opinion.
We also get to see the boys from the Fulton U series, which I was very very VERY excited about (my sister can attest – I said it out loud, multiple times). I have to admit, I liked the Fulton U series better than this one, but FU is one of my favorites ever, so that’s a hard comparison to make. I wish they would’ve all stayed together, but I understand why Keyton made the decision that he did. (Keyton and the FU boys, not Keyton and Bay — this book is a HEA!)
I don’t want to give any spoilers, but overall, I’m grateful to Maya for giving me the opportunity to read the ARCs of this series! I’m excited to see what she comes up with next.
*As always, my disclaimer for new adult books: they have more sexual content than young adult ones! It’s basically (not always, but with this series!) the nature of the genre, so read at your own risk!
