What is My Darling Bride by Ilsa Madden-Mills about?
In a sizzling romance that sparkles with wit and depth, two wounded souls meet by chance in the desert and agree to get married, and their lives will never be the same.
On a normal day, Emmaline Darling isn’t a car thief. She’s just a simple girl who runs a bookstore and adores cats. But when she’s stranded in the desert and needs to get away from her dangerous ex-boyfriend, she picks her only option: swiping the keys to a famous football player’s Lamborghini and speeding away.
Football star Graham Harlan is in chaos. First he took a hit on the field that left him with a near-death experience, and now he’s promised his brother he’ll get married to secure the family inheritance. Trouble is he isn’t even seeing anyone.
Then a mystery woman steals his car. With his usual stubbornness, he tracks her all the way to Manhattan and gives her an ultimatum: marry me or I’ll press charges.
Her choice is obvious, only neither of them expect the sparks that ignite between them.
As the end of their arrangement looms, will Graham take a chance on love or let his darling walk away forever?

Review:
The title is a play on Emmy’s last name, and the nickname that Graham calls her, which is always cool. Even though the two of them get a bit of a rocky start, it’s pretty clear from the beginning that they actually care about each other.
Both of them have complicated family dynamics, in different ways. It’s interesting to see how they each navigate those relationships. I really liked Emmy’s siblings, Jane and Andrew, and Jane’s daughter Londyn was such a cute addition (not to mention Emmy’s cat, Magic). Her relationship with her younger sister Jane was so special and really felt like a close sibling relationship. The other supporting characters, like Brody (Graham’s younger brother), his husband Cas, and Emmy’s bookstore colleague Babs. Plus, there are mentions of characters from Ilsa’s previous books as well, which I love!
Overall, I loved Emmy and Graham together, and would love to see them pop up in future books! I really enjoyed reading their love story (especially all of the references to books! I mean, a bookshelf with a sliding ladder?!), and highly recommend it, especially to those who love football romances and marriage of convince books!
Special thanks to Ilsa and Grey’s Promotions for providing me with an early copy — the book is available to buy now!
