[ARC REVIEW] “More Than Friends”(Pembroke Hills #3) By: Kat Singleton

From the #1 bestselling billionaire romance author of Black Ties & White Lies comes the third stand-alone novel set at an exclusive country club in the Hamptons. More Than Friends is a friends-to-lovers, single dad, billionaire romance.

Jude Kensington is the playboy of Pembroke Hills Country Club and the last person I expected to be living with this summer.

Charming flirt. Billionaire bachelor. And my friend who once kissed me during a night neither of us can remember—or forget. But before things could get complicated, a surprise showed up on his doorstep.

A baby. His baby.

With no clue how to care for an infant and me in search of a place to live, we strike a deal: I’ll help him survive fatherhood, and he’ll give me a place to stay. Temporary. Convenient. Totally platonic.

Except nothing about this arrangement feels simple. Not when I’m rocking his daughter to sleep. Not when I catch him watching me like I’m something he can’t have. And definitely not when I remember exactly how it felt to kiss him.

Falling for Jude was never part of the deal. But the longer we play house, the harder it is to pretend I don’t want to be more than friends…

Review:

We’re back in Pembroke Hills! This isn’t the first time we’ve met Jude and Charlotte – their best friends Lucy and Cal are the stars of the first book in this series, “In Good Company” – but now it’s their time in the spotlight.

I love a forced proximity trope, and am normally not a surprise pregnancy fan – but this one isn’t technically that trope, more like surprise baby, which is a different layer. The book is friends to lovers, which they don’t quite feel like friends in the sense that they already have feelings brewing for each other so they aren’t really “just friends” in that regard, but I suppose that’s also something that comes along with that trope. I do think that their communication skills had room for improvement in terms of needing them to just sit down and talk about their feelings and what’s going on – but I understand the fear and trepidation surrounding that as well.

As with all of Kat’s books, I recommend this one for 18+ due to some of the mature/spicy content – but if you’re on book three of this series, you know that already! Kat’s Mixtape series still remains my favorite series of hers, but I’m grateful to her and Valentine PR for providing me with a copy to review! “More Than Friends” is available now!

Note: Although this can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading in publishing/series order!
