Review:
Y’all this book broke my heart! I definitely cried a few times reading Yasmin and Nixon’s story. They kept me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out their secrets, especially since it had been hinted at back during the first book in the series, “Kiss to Conquer.” Speaking of “Kiss to Conquer” — we get to see quite a bit of Callie and Hayden in this one, as well as Grace (I know she was in Anna’s other series, but I know her from “Kiss Before Midnight,” the short Christmas story!). Without giving anything away, the secret Nixon is hiding hit close to home — my mom has dealt with the same thing twice now, so watching (reading, whatever) Nixon and his sister go through the worst case scenario was heartbreaking. On a lighter note, I’d love to read a book centering on Nixon’s sister, Jade — maybe Jade and Grace can star in Blairwood 2.0 in a few years?
Like almost all new adult/college books, there is sexual content in this one, so do what you will with that information.
Anyway, I thought Yas and Nixon were great together, and it was great seeing the characters we first met in the first book take the spotlight in the second! I don’t want to give too much away, but I’d like to give a huge thank you to Anna for providing me with an ARC to review! If you’re thinking about reading the series — first of all, do it —, second of all, I recommend starting with “Kiss to Conquer,” because “Kiss to Forget” contains some spoilers for the first book!
If you finish the first two books (more are on the way!) and want a similar series, I strongly recommend the Fulton University series (“The Perfect First,” “The Second We Met,” and “The Third Best Thing” by Maya Hughes. The fourth book will be similar to Yasmin’s secret in this one!)
