What is Rewrite Our Story about?
Cade Jennings was always there for me when I needed him—until he wasn’t.
I’d spent my entire life loving my best friend’s older brother. Every single one of my birthday wishes was spent hoping Cade would finally notice me.
And then one day, he did.
But not all love stories have happy endings.
It’s been years since I left the small town of Sutten Mountain devastated and heartbroken. I’d used the pain to fuel a bestselling novel that solidified I’d never have to return.
Until tragedy struck, forcing me to face the man who shattered my heart.
I thought I’d be strong enough to see him again. I didn’t expect the angry, broken man staring back at me.
But the more time we spend around each other, the more I see glimpses of the man I fell in love with. His touch still owns me. His kiss still brands me. And even after all this time, the feelings I have for him still consume me.
Cade and I are unfinished business, and this time, he’s not letting me leave until we rewrite our story.
From the author of Black Ties and White Lies comes an all new series of complete standalones set in Sutten Mountain. Rewrite Our Story, the first book in the series, is a steamy, second chance, best friend’s brother romance.

Review:
Y’all, this book had me tearing up right from the prologue (trigger warning for death(s) of loved ones). I absolutely adore Mare and Cade, and I really hope we get to see them in future books in the series. They’re just such a perfect match for each other, even though the journey for their love story isn’t an easy one. Something that’s really cool about this one is that there’s no third act breakup, like most romances have! Plus, the story is so visual — I could perfect picture every scene in my head as I was reading.
I’m the biggest fan of best friend’s brother romances, and this one was no exception. It’s so easy to fall in love with Cade as soon as we meet him, and Mare (Marigold) quickly became a favorite as well. The book is told in alternating timelines, which can be hit or miss, but I was equally as invested in each when they flipped back and forth. It’s also told in dual POV, between Cade and Mare. This is such a sweet, heartbreaking, and heartwarming small town romance. Plus, it was so nice to read the friendship between Mare and her best friend (Cade’s sister) Pippa.
Overall, I’m really excited for the rest of these books, and I think this was a very strong start to the series. We were first introduced to Sutten Mountain in Kat’s previous book “Black Ties & White Lies,” and although it’s not required to read that one first, I would recommend doing so, since that book is a great read as well!
The book is out now, and free to read on Kindle Unlimited!
I received an early copy to review — huge thanks to Kat!
