Against All Odds (Holt Hockey #2) – C.W. Farnsworth cover

Against All Odds (Holt Hockey #2) – C.W. Farnsworth

Over two years since “Famous Last Words” released, another book in the hockey series has been added! The book is available now, but I highly recommend reading the first book first, especially since this one takes place very soon after “Famous Last Words” ends. (A third book is on it’s way too, release date TBA!) “Famous Last Words” was actually the first C.W. Farnsworth book I ever read, so I was extra excited to dive into this one. (Coach’s daughter is almost always guaranteed to be a fun read!)

What is Against All Odds by C.W. Farnsworth about?

Rylan Keller is dreading the start of spring semester. After choosing a college across the country and spending the past fall abroad, she’ll be a Holt University student. Worse than starting over at a new school? Starting over at a new school where your dad is the head coach of the men’s hockey team. And reluctantly agreeing to tutor a player, then coming face-to-face with the guy you thought you’d never see again.

Aidan Phillips has a reputation on campus. One he’s carefully curated to include limited reliability or responsibility. Outside of hockey, he spends his free time drinking, partying, and flirting. Often all three.

He’s a player off the ice as well as on it. Gorgeous, carefree, reckless. His one goal is to finally win Holt a championship, which he can only do if he keeps up his end of the tutoring arrangement. Hooking up with his tutor would be stupider than failing in the first place, even if the tutor in question wasn’t his coach’s daughter.

Rylan is determined to excel at Holt and make her fresh start a success. To finally have some fun, and not with a hockey player. Except, the more time they spend together, the easier it is for Rylan to look past Aidan’s facade. The harder it is to hold back.

But no matter how tempting giving in might be…the odds are stacked against them.

Belong With Me (With Me Series #5) – Jessica Cunsolo

Belong With Me (With Me Series #5) – Jessica Cunsolo

It’s no secret that Jessica’s With Me trilogy is one of my absolute favorites (still waiting on that adaptation update…cough cough…), but with the release of “Belong With Me,” it’s officially over! The final two books in the series follow Aidan’s younger brother, who we do meet in the original trilogy. Full disclosure, I haven’t read the fourth book yet, because I heard it ends on a cliffhanger, and I didn’t think I’d be able to handle that for a year. BUT, now the fifth book is out, so “Be With Me” can stop collecting dust on my bookshelf and I can finally read them back to back!

What is Belong with Me by Jessica Cunsolo about?

In the gripping sequel to BE WITH ME, Jessica Cunsolo takes us back to the world of With Me.

When Siena Amato moved to King City, all she wanted to do was take care of her sister, maybe reconnect with her long-absent father, and keep her head down and her grades up. She never expected to become the prime suspect in a classmate’s disappearance–at least in the eyes of the girl’s police officer father–or to fall for Jason Parker.

Jason is everything Siena doesn’t need right now. Yes, he’s handsome, very handsome. And he’s kind and thoughtful, but he’s also got a reputation for drag racing and evading the law. Being around him isn’t a good idea for a girl who is already fighting to convince everyone that she’s innocent and just wants to avoid the drama.

However, Siena can’t ignore the attraction between them, and Jason actually believes her. As their friend’s disappearance remains a mystery, the pair are even more determined to discover the truth and clear Siena’s name. But as they dig deeper, they may be risking everything including their hearts.

Something Like Love (Chicago Grizzles #3) – Piper Rayne

The final book in the Chicago Grizzlies series is here, and to say I’ve been eagerly awaiting Cooper and Ellery’s story since first meeting them in the prequel is an understatement.

What is Something Like Love by Piper Rayne about?

I want to.
I can’t.

I’ve been friends with Cooper Rice from the moment we met. He was just as famous a decade ago on our college campus as he is now being the star quarterback for the Chicago Grizzlies.

But he’s not only talented on the field, he’s also the gorgeous football star women fawn over, posing in underwear and razor ads.

Here’s a secret those women don’t know—Cooper Rice isn’t a playboy. He’s the kind of man who wants to settle down with a family. He’s content ordering pizza and massaging my feet after my long shift as an emergency room doctor. He listens to me as if he’s as invested as I am in my patients. He has never let me down.

This is exactly why I refuse to live without Cooper in my life. Eight years ago, I made him promise me that we’d never cross that line. And just like I knew Cooper would, he’s held to that promise.

Despite our best efforts, our relationship is evolving, shifting into new territory and I find myself unsure if I want Cooper to keep that promise. Ignoring the obvious could tear us apart, but so could giving in, meaning there’s a chance I’ll lose Cooper forever no matter what decision I make.

Before the Chaos – Maggie Rawdon cover

Before the Chaos (Queen City Prequel) – Maggie Rawdon

This one is more of an honorable mention, since it’s technically only available for Maggie’s newsletter subscribers — so you need to go sign up ASAP if you want it delivered to your inbox on February 8th! ___ is a prequel to Maggie’s next football romance series, which begins releasing at the end of the month with Rival Hearts on February 29th. I love the little prequels that help set the tone (and build excitement!) and give some early context to characters before getting to dive into the full length book, so I’ll be reading this ASAP!

What is Before the Chaos by Maggie Rawdon about?

I have two goals when I head up to the mountain house with my older brother and his friends: get his best friend Xander to see me as something more than my brother’s little sister and lose my V-card before I leave on gap year. The more those two goals align, the better. So when I end up stuck sharing a room with the wrong best friend, I use it to my advantage. After all, who better to give me the tips and tricks I need? But after a few late nights, I’m forgetting the list I made and realizing that even the best laid plans can end up in chaos. Especially when the wrong guy starts feeling like the right one…

Fighting Words – R.S. Grey cover

Fighting Words – R.S. Grey

R.S. Grey is legendary on this blog for her witty banter and perfectly crafted romcoms, so I can’t wait to dive into my ARC (come back soon for my review!) of this one. This one is forced proximity, roommates-to-lovers (and it usually isn’t an R.S. Grey book if there’s not an age gap), and releases on February 15!

What is Fighting Words by R.S. Grey about?

Hate turns to heat when a literary grump meets his deadline savior.

My assignment is simple: trek to a remote English cottage and convince Nathaniel Foster to let me work with him.

Too bad he’s a complete and utter jerk.

Who slams the door in a poor stranger’s face, leaving them shivering out in the snow?! So much for a warm welcome…

Nathaniel is God’s gift to readers everywhere. My publisher is desperate for his next book, which in turn makes me desperate to help him complete it. So what if he doesn’t want to play nice? I have no choice but to live and work with him in this snow-covered cottage, suffering under his piercing blue stare until it feels like I might combust.

Our heated exchanges by day give way to torturous tension at night. I can’t clock out from his all-consuming presence. I can’t escape my unwanted feelings. When one of our arguments nearly ends in an angry kiss, I worry the writing is on the wall.

But I can do this. I can clench my teeth, ball my fists, and focus on this damn book. If I can just keep the fiction and fantasy between the pages and not between the sheets, I’ll be the hero of the publishing world.

So pick up your pen, Nathaniel—and please, please, stop looking at me like that.

Pretty Rings and Broken Things (Black Tie Billionaires #2) – Kat Singleton cover

Pretty Rings and Broken Things (Black Tie Billionaires #2) – Kat Singleton

Kat Singleton’s Black Ties and White Lies took TikTok by storm last year, and she’s absolutely killing it! I know the next book in the series is highly anticipated (the ARC is going to hit my Kindle later this week!), and I’m looking forward to seeing Winnie get her own happily ever after. While you wait though, the first book is out, and I’d argue that the second book in Kat’s Sutten Mountain series, “Tempt Our Fate” is actually also a crossover of this series, so go read that one first too! (This book is technically a standalone, but it takes place in the same universe as her other books, so you can’t go wrong with reading those first, especially since this book isn’t our first introduction to Winnie!)

What is Pretty Rings and Broken Things by Kat Singleton about?

Pretty rings can’t always fix broken things.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t stop powerful men from trying. Which is why instead of getting the wedding I’d always dreamed of, I was forced to marry the heir to our rival company and join a family that we’ve hated for generations.

An arranged marriage to make our problem disappear.

Then again, I’m the one that snuck around behind my father’s back and ended up at the center of a scandal that could ruin my family’s reputation.

Now the only person who can protect me is the cold and calculated billionaire, Archer Moore.

The marriage was only supposed to be for show, but Archer can be very convincing. He’s demanded we move in together. That we kiss. That we make it look—and feel—real. He’s a man who is obsessed with getting what he wants—and I’m starting to think what he wants is me.

But the closer we get, and the less we pretend, the more I question if the grudges between our families are too much to overcome for a marriage that was built on pretty rings and broken things.

Rival Hearts – Maggie Rawdon cover

Rival Hearts (Queen City #1) – Maggie Rawdon

Rival Hearts
is Madison Westfield’s book and the first book in a new forbidden love sports romance series from Maggie Rawdon! We meet Madison in Maggie’s previous trilogy, Seattle Phantom Football, and she’s the sister of Tobias (Seattle Phantom Football series) and Easton (Plays & Penalties series) so I’m extra excited to get to see her love story! (Plus, rivals always makes for a good read, and if it’s a book written by Maggie, I know it’ll be amazing.)

What is Rival Hearts by Maggie Rawdon about?

Pro football might see me as their favorite underdog, but Madison Westfield would rather see me six feet under.

My ex-best friend’s little sister has every reason to hate me. I took her boyfriend’s spot on this team, her brother might lose his too, and our short-lived engagement years ago is part of the reason our families are locked in a grudge match that has the whole league on edge.

Ruining me would fix most of her problems, but she’s stuck trying to work a PR miracle with my career instead.

Making my way through her build-a-better-image checklist is the kind of torture I’ll gladly sign up for, especially if I get to help her prove everyone wrong.

But it means we’re spending a lot of time alone together, and when it comes to Madison, I’ll take any chance she gives me. Even if it means there’s hell to pay—on and off the field.
