[ARC REVIEW] “Caribbean Crush” By: R.S. Grey

R.S. Grey’s newest summer romcom, Caribbean Crush, it out now!

What is Caribbean Crush by R.S. Grey about?

Set sail with USA Today bestselling author R.S. Grey in this sizzling romance between old rivals who reunite on a cruise ship, only to discover that they want much more than just another competition.

Casey Hughes is a struggling travel journalist desperate for a big break when she lands the assignment of a hop on board Aurelia for its maiden voyage through paradise. While she’ll bask in the luxury cruise ship’s fine dining and complimentary spa treatments, her real mission is to snag an exclusive interview with Phillip Woodmont.

Casey and the elusive shipping heir have history. Once, they were nothing short of brutal enemies. Though the former brace-faced teen is now a suited-up CEO with devastating good looks, he makes it clear to Casey that he has no interest in forgetting their past.

The volatile grudge between them is as explosive as ever. More than once Casey is tempted to toss Phillip overboard, but for her work, she’ll have to swallow her pride. If it’s an apology he’s after, she’ll serve it up on a silver platter. If he wants her to walk the plank, she’ll salute with an aye, aye, Captain.

Casey can’t let him provoke her. She needs this interview. So if Phillip wants to play dirty, Casey will just have to play dirtier.

Review:

In a surprising turn of events, my preorder arrived today on release day, which was very exciting! (I’m slowly but surely doing my best to collect trophies — I mean books — of all of Rachel’s paperbacks for my shelf.) Caribbean Crush is out now, and is free to read on Kindle Unlimited! Special thanks to Grey’s Promotions for providing me with an early e-book to review as well!

Casey and Phillip are at odds due to something that happened when they were kids. Is it petty? Sure. Do I fault them for it? Not necessarily, plus it makes the book more fun that way. Casey girlbossing her way onto the cruise ship with her job in the first place was impressive, so you can’t help but admire her ‘fake it ’til you make it’ approach with that. I love a good enemies-to-lovers and (complete with Rachel’s signature banter) so this was one I couldn’t wait to read!

This book is such a fun summer read, and it makes me sad that summer is somehow already coming to an end! Rachel is the queen of fun romcoms, and this one was no exception. It’s a relatively quick read (in that you can read it all in one sitting if you put your mind to it), and contains all of your favorite things about an R.S. Grey book.

One of my favorite forced proximity / workplace romances is another one of Rachel’s books, “Enemies Abroad,” which I highly recommend reading as well if you love those tropes! As with all R.S. Grey books, I recommend them for 18+ due to some of the mature content, but as always, don’t let me tell you what to do!
