Lauren Asher’s “Throttled” Adaptation Starring Josh Heuston is Coming to Prime Video

Lauren Asher’s “Throttled” is coming to the small screen! Deadline reports that Amazon Studios has acquired the worldwide rights to a movie adaptation of the first book in Asher’s “Dirty Air” series, starring Josh Heuston. (You’ll remember Josh Heuston from his role in Prime Video’s “Off Campus” series as love interest Justin Kohl, and as a common fancast for various characters in Fourth Wing.) Heuston will play the male lead, Noah Slade, in “Throttled.” No other casting announcements have been made yet.

The script will be adapted by Melissa Osborne and directed by Nzingha Steward, with Max Handelman and Elizabeth Banks of Brownstone Productions and Jennifer Gibgot and Andrew Panay of Ethea Entertainment producing. The author, Lauren Asher, will be executive producing the film as well.

When with “Throttled” be released on Prime Video?

No official release date has been set, but a 2027 release (or early 2028 release) is likely.

What will the movie version of “Throttled” be about on Prime Video?

“Throttled” is a brother’s teammate/brother’s rival romance in the F1 racing world. The book follows Noah Slade and Maya Alatorre (told in dual POVs) – read the book synopsis below!

Noah

Maya Alatorre is the sister of my teammate…and my new obsession.

Keeping my distance during the Formula 1 season should be easy, except I always find ways to see her.

Press tours. Pre-race rituals. Sponsor events and black-tie galas.

The more time we spend together, the stronger my desire grows.

Sneaking around with her is one thing, but wanting more?

Never going to happen.

She might be a distraction dressed like a daydream, but no woman is worth risking the championship title over.

Or so I thought.

Maya

Noah Slade is Formula 1 royalty and my brother’s biggest rival.

When I’m invited to join my sibling while he competes for the World

Championship, I promise to avoid Noah at all costs.

Twenty-one races. Two drivers who hate each other. And one forbidden attraction I can’t ignore.

Developing feelings for Noah wasn’t part of my plan.

But then again, neither was anyone finding out.

Turns out the man I was warned about happens to be the one I can’t stay away from.

Even if he breaks my heart once the season comes to an end.

What do you think of Josh as Noah? I’m really excited to see the film, and read the book in the meantime! “Throttled” is also available to read for free for those with Kindle Unlimited.
